Gearing Up For The Spring

On March 20, 2012, in Uncategorized, by Admin

With the spring season upon us the rush for a new wardrobe is in full gear.  Malls are once again full of shoppers.  The sales are beginning in stores and online beckoning all of the shoppers.  However, although there are so many sales going on, there cost associated with gearing up for each new season seems to be exploding by leaps and bounds.  Getting the whole family ready for the warm weather months is a huge job and a tremendous expense.  Yet, there is a method to this madness which I have come to learn over the years.

For starters, I begin with shopping for the kids.  As with just about everything in life, the kids come first.  Getting the children geared up for the warm weather is a huge task and needs to be done.  Then whatever money is left over at the end, gets to be spent on the parents. Young children are growing, so every new season they need new clothing.  Your child can’t go to school with his pants reaching above his ankle.  He will look ridiculous and the other child will notice as well. Don’t make your son or daughter into the laughing stock; it’s just not fair to them.  Hit the malls.  You will find many stores offering great bargains.  Stores like H&M and ZARA’s offer up to date styles at low prices. Once you have taken care of the clothing, next it’s the shoes.  You have been pushing off buying new shoes for a while, yet now is the time to purchase new ones.  For the summer months they will be doing lots of outdoor sports, so make sure you find a pair that will hold up to through all the action.  As a side note, just make sure you save some cash for all the equipment that they will want for the season, like bikes, scooters, rollerblades, sports gear etc.  It’s literally endless.

If there is any cash left after that then make a dash for the mall before it’s gone.  There is so much to buy.  Start with the clothing that you will wear day in, day out to work.  Maybe you are lucky enough to wear a uniform to work.  Perhaps you are a nurse.  Then you can get away with buying a couple of great nursing uniforms for yourself at low-low prices and buy a couple of other things for your off days. Yet if you are one of those lucky ones, you will need to buy a work wardrobe and then an out of work wardrobe.  Chances are you will want to spend more on your work clothing.  That is where you need to look put-together.  Over the weekend you can pull just about anything out of your closet and get away with it. Since your spending account is limited by now, opt for a couple of versatile tops and bottoms.  Choose clothing that can be mixed and matched.  It will take a long way.  Then get a pair of classic shoe to wear everyday and then one more exciting pair to add some fun. Spring is an exciting part of the year; make your shopping experience a fun part as well.
