An Honest Broker?
The US Role in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

Co-Sponsored with the US Campaign

Delegation Leaders:TBA

The United States has been the most dominant international player in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  This delegation, co-sponsored by the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, will examine the role of the US government and civil society actors in bringing peace and fomenting conflict between Palestinians and Israelis.

Meetings will be held with civil society leaders, activists and experts who will explain the role of US military, humanitarian and diplomatic aid in the region.  Participants will analyze the US role in a comparative framework and examine the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the light of other historical conflicts such as apartheid South Africa and the Jim Crow South.

Your participation as an eyewitness to the situation will enrich your understanding of the conflict and empower your work back in the United States.

As with all delegations, you will meet with ‘ordinary’ Israelis and Palestinians, and people and organizations working for peace and justice.  Delegates will confront and analyze the US role in the conflict and wrestle with ways to translate your experience to others when you return home.

This is our second co-sponsored delegation with the US Campaign. To read about the first co-sponsored delegation in July 2009, click here.

To express interest in this delegation and get updates and more information (leaders, co-sponsors, etc) as it becomes available, send us an email so we'll be sure to add you to the July 2009 delegation mailing list.
